The Texas Veteran’s Commission awarded Integral Care $340,000 to support an internal clinical counseling mental health program for veteran clients. Integral Care serves approximately 330 veterans annually and helps anyone who has spent any length of the time in the U.S. armed forces, which serves as crucial support for Travis County veterans who aren’t automatically eligible for services through the VA. This funding will allow Integral Care to hire a Military Veteran Peer Support Specialist (MVP), two Community Health Workers (CHWs), and one Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA). The MVP and CHWs will provide person-centered care while connecting veterans/families to resources and internal supports. For those who are not open to Integral Care services, a LPHA will provide clinic and community-based intakes.  Funding is for one year, with a second-year renewal option.
