Through HHSC’ award, Integral Care will broaden the scope of our existing Community-Based Mental Health Services to include services for children attending elementary schools in Travis County. Currently, Integral Care is the Community Mental Health Provider for three school districts (Del Valle, Manor, and Pflugerville ISD) and two Charter Schools in Austin ISD. However, most of these community-based services are dedicated to middle and high school campuses. Through this RFA, Integral Care seeks to expand early intervention and treatment in elementary schools and in the community to reduce the need for future intensive care.

To achieve this goal, Integral Care will add a licensed therapist to serve as a Team Lead, three community-based qualified mental health providers (QMHP’s) a Family Partner, and .1 FTE of a psychiatrist. These professionals will provide services to elementary-aged children and their families, with an emphasis on early intervention and treatment. The focus of services will be addressing behaviors early prior to the need for more intensive services such as juvenile detention, hospitalization and/or out of home placements. Therapists will provide evidenced based treatment, social skills, coping skills, healthy living skills and family relational skills. The Family Partner will work specifically with parents to provide parenting skills such as Nurturing Parenting and case management. This team is set to interact with at least 140 young individuals, aged between 5 and 14, who are currently enrolled in an elementary school in the Eastern Cresent of Travis County.
