Get to know Deborah
Deborah Smith is a passionate advocate at the intersection of agriculture and mental wellness. With a certification in Paralegal Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio, she has dedicated herself to community service, serving as a court-appointed special advocate for CASA of Travis County and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Integral Care, Austin’s local mental health authority. As a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer, Deborah believes in the transformative power of food as medicine, and her work bridges mental wellness and sustainable agriculture, promoting food justice by ensuring access to nourishing, holistic foods that empower communities to thrive both physically and mentally. Her journey reflects a commitment to nurturing both people and the land, making her an inspiring voice for sustainable well-being.
