Feeding Hope, Building Futures: Glimmer|Austin Invests in Whole-Health Recovery

Glimmer|Austin awarded Integral Care $50,000 to support its Permanent Supportive Housing Food Pantries & Supportive Employment Program, an integrated initiative that addresses food insecurity, mental health recovery, housing stability, and employment for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorders. The funding will support the expansion of Integral Care’s whole-health model across its Permanent Supportive Housing communities, including the opening of Seabrook Square II in 2026, by providing funding for supportive employment staffing through The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF) and for fresh and nonperishable food purchases to supplement donations from the Central Texas Food Bank. The on-site pantries provide residents with nutritious food, hygiene essentials, and a trusted connection to behavioral health and supportive services, while TOOF participants gain paid, low-barrier employment operating the pantries. By integrating housing, food access, healthcare, and workforce development, the program aims to reduce food insecurity, improve engagement in treatment, increase economic stability, and support long-term recovery and community integration.
