Home Depot Foundation Grant Helps Transform Safe Haven Veteran Housing

The Home Depot Foundation awarded Integral Care a $140,000 grant through its Veteran Housing Grant Program to renovate Safe Haven. Safe Haven is Integral Care’s transitional housing program for veterans experiencing homelessness and living with mental illness, providing safe shelter, comprehensive support services, and pathways to permanent housing for more than 30 years. This funding will support critical renovations to the 15-bed facility, including ADA accessibility improvements, upgraded HVAC and plumbing systems, new flooring and windows, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and enhanced security features. These improvements will create a safer, more accessible, and energy-efficient environment that promotes recovery, improves resident well-being, and ensures uninterrupted services. By modernizing the facility, Safe Haven will continue helping veterans access stable housing, connect with VA and community resources, and achieve long-term housing stability while meeting the growing need for veteran homelessness services in Travis County.
