CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

The Children’s Mental Health Leadership Summit on Friday October 27th will launch an effort to strengthen how our community responds when children and teens experience a mental health crisis.

Over the last 2 years, many organizations have worked collaboratively to implement the Travis County Plan for Children’s Mental Health. This plan is a road map for how our community can strengthen services, systems, policies and funding to help children and families reach their full potential.

One goal of the plan is to respond effectively to children, youth and families in crisis. As community partners have worked to implement the plan, we have realized that a more focused effort is needed to improve the crisis response system for children and families. We need your help to make this happen.

At the Summit we will…

  • Provide an update on implementation of the Children’s Mental Health Plan
  • Introduce “Okay to Say,” a new campaign to eliminate the stigma of mental health
  • Learn about the challenges and needs in the children’s crisis system

More details will be shared closer to the meeting. In the meantime, please contact Mary Dodd with any questions.
