The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will host an Art Exhibit Reception in recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

The exhibit will showcase the winning art submissions from this year’s statewide 2019 Mental Health Awareness Creative Arts Contest for both children and adults. This year, 770 pieces of art were submitted to the contest which sets a new record. By sharing their work, contest participants help generate conversations about mental health. Submissions were divided by category and age group and presented to a panel of judges. Judges selected the top submissions based on originality, creativity, and how well an entry expressed the theme: “Why Does Mental Health Matter To You?”

HHSC cordially invites providers, participants, and the general public to attend the reception on Monday, May 20, 2019, from 4:00–6:00pm Central Daylight Saving Time, in the Brown Heatly Building, Room 1410, 4900 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas.
